Dancing Competitions (Sets & Ceilí) at 1pm

Sets Ceílí with music by Swallows Tail at 9:30pm (£10, €12)

Venue:  St Malachy’s High School

Monday 19th July BBQ and Session at 8:30pm for Fleadh Volunteers (Free)

Venue:  The Lodge

Tuesday 20th July Different Pipers at 8:30pm (£5, €6)

Venue:  The Lodge

Wednesday 21st July Open Mic Night  at 8:30pm (Free) – Come along with your instrument,

singing voice, stories, dance and craic

Thursday 22nd July Tipperary Youth Ensemble (Irish Music, Song and Dance) at 8:30pm (£5, €6, concessions:  £3, €4)

Friday 23rd July Scoil Eigse for Competition Winners

Official Opening of the 50th Fleadh Uladh on the Gig Rig at 8:15pm

Fior Ceílí with music by Ceílí Time in Castlewellan GAA at 9pm (£6, €7)

Singing Session (Hillyard House)

Saturday 24th July Craft Fair in The Lodge from 1pm to 6pm

Competitions in St Malachy’s High School from 10:00am

Music on the Gig Rig from 2pm to 8pm

Evening Parade and Fireworks

Sunday 25th July Craft Fair in The Lodge from 1pm to 6pm

Competitions in St Malachy’s High School from 10:00am

Pipe Competitions in Castlewellan GAA playing fields (noon)

Marching Bands Competition in GAA playing fields (2:30pm)

Winning Band Parade through the town (4:30pm)

Official Closing of the Fleadh and outdoor Sets Ceili at the Gig Rig (9pm)

Fleadh Uladh 2010 – Scoil Eigse

To celebrate the 50th Fleadh Uladh we are holding one day of FREE Workshops on Friday 23rd July 2010.

These workshops will only be offered to 1st and 2nd place winners in 12 – 15 and 15 – 18 age groups from each county.

Workshops are offered in the following instruments (tutors also listed):

  • Tin Whistle Niamh Lonergan & Daniel Ryan

  • Flute Dierdre Ryan

  • Singing Tadhg Maher

  • Fiddle Clare Quinn & Lucia McPartlin

  • Bodhrán Niall McCrickard

  • Concertina Rory Kennedy

  • Button Accordion Elaine O’Sullivan

Class times: 10:30am – 12:30pm, 1:30pm – 4pm (bring packed lunch, no nuts please)

Venue: The Lodge, Castlewellan, Co Down

Ulster Fleadh Craft Fair

Just wanted to mention the craft fair at the Ulster Fleadh. It’s going to be held in the Lodge, 24-25th July, 1-6pm. Anyone who would like to have a stall please email Maria and Emma at craft_fair_ulster_fleadh@yahoo.co.uk. We are trying for as many homemade/local crafts as possible.
